Spring Favorites 2024!

Spring Favorites 2024!

Spring is officially in full bloom and I am loving it! Trees are green, our rose bushes are dotted with pink and maroon bulbs, and I can finally go outside not having to worry as much if it is freezing. Spring is for sure my second favorite season. Who doesn't love this time of year, unless you have allergies? Then I am sorry. That is not something I wish even on my enemy.

Anywho, since we are all enjoying spring. I thought it only fitting to let you know my spring favorites. Let me know yours below and ensure you sign up for my email list. So, you get notified of any new posts. :D

Let's Jump In!

Spring Favorites:

I have broken this post into four sections. Drinks and food, skincare, clothes, and habits. I thought it appropriate to break it up since there are so many things on the list. Jump to whichever section you want to look at first! Possibly my favorite section is drinks and food. I live in coffee shops, restaurants, and the kitchen.

Drinks and Food

  • Lavender Honey Latte

From my favorite little coffee shop in town, Napoli. It seems Lavender is taking the world by storm because Starbucks has its version as well. I thought New Mexico was the only one obsessed with lavender. Either way, Napoli's latte is amazingly delicious. I have not tried it hot, but iced, and a dollop of whipped cream on top is super delicious. They do have such a large selection of drinks that I would take a year or two to try them all. But when it comes to coffee, I love going with my staples.

  • Sunshine Latte

Another from Napoli! This I believe a signature drink of theirs. It has... Well, I don't remember what it has, and what's funny is I had it the other day. Either way, delicious and you should try a drink from there if you are in Albuquerque. It’s actually a large enough coffeeshop that you don’t feel uncomfortable sitting here for hours, but also authentic and super cute. Staff is nice and helpful and worth giving a tip to. :D

  • Lavender Rose Chomomint Tea

This tea is delicious. I discovered this tea last spring, and it still holds up. It's perfect for when I am in the office with a bit of a chill. The tea is sold in a small tin box and is worth every penny.

  • Avocado Dressing

Salads have been on my lunch menu recently, and sadly one day I ran out of salad dressing. I was kind of lazy to go out of the house, and one of my friends recently made amazing avocado dressing. So, I took the plunge, found a random recipe online, and made it. It came out way better than I expected and it’s probably healthier than the store-bought ones.

  • Greek Yogurt Breakfast

I struggle to eat breakfast every morning. Up until recently, I would skip breakfast and wait to eat at lunchtime. But that is obviously not great for one's health, so I tried everything to somehow make it easier to eat breakfast in the morning. In all actuality, I was a bit lazy and didn’t want to cook in the morning. Finally, I ended up loving Greek yogurt with fruit, granola, and a bit of honey. It's so good and refreshing that I think it's perfect for the spring season and even summer.

Skin Care

I am always up for improving my skincare. Don’t get me wrong, I do listen to my dermatologist. But once in a while, I change things up a bit. But I thought it best to give you some of my staples that my dermatologist approved for me and work amazingly well.

  • Sun Screen Neutragena

I have tried so many sunscreens, and only one has been able to agree with my skin. I’m not completely in love with the ingredients, but it's a great sunscreen. I have dry skin, but any extra oil usually breaks me out, so this sunscreen is nongreasy, water resistant, and cheaper than many of the sunscreens I tried to use. Sometimes you just have to accept what works. :D

  • Sugar Scrub

I make this sugar scrub myself. I prefer to save money on this one. It smells great and leaves my skin soft and smelling great.

Recipe

  • Mix 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/2 cup of Coconut Oil
  • 5-10 drops of Lavender and Lemon Essential Oils.

Just a word of advice. Never use it on your face, just your body.

  • Earth's Daughter Tinted Lip Balm

Before I used Burt's Bees tinted lip balm, but wow! That is getting way too expensive. So, I went on the search for cheaper but great tinted lip balm that has SPF. I found Earth's Daughter Tinted Lip Balm on Amazon. There are four to a package. And it works great! The only thing is that it doesn't hydrate as much, so I just bought a mini Vaseline to throw in my purse as well.

Here are the links to purchase!

Clothes

  • Spring Dresses

I can't really link the dresses I have, but I am obsessed with spring dresses! They are so easy to put on and get on with your day. Plus the added benefit of being super cute. Mint, bright green, and white have been the colors I've been reaching for lately.

  • Graphic Tees

Super cute! I love graphic tees so much that now I am selling them. I list some of my favorites here. But graphic tees just show a different side of us without us even having to utter a word.

  1. When You Love Fall Tee
  2. Wild at Heart Tshirt
  3. Spring Vibes Tshirt
  4. Spring Girly Tee
  • Jean Jacket

A jean jacket goes great on top of those cute graphic tees and sundresses! Jean jackets can make anything casual, and you can throw on some white tennis shoes. Bam! You got yourself an adorable casual outfit with hardly any effort at all. :D

Reading

  • Light for Reading

I was on YouTube one day, as one does,  watching one of my favorite YouTubers, Muchelleb, showing her favorites of the year I think. I'll add the link here. This light was one of them, and I love it! I love reading at night without having to turn on my room light or a lamp. It kills the vibe. Perfect solution this light is!

  • Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

Reading along my spring reading list. Now, I am on Mansfield Park by Jane Austen. So far, it is a cute book. Loving Edmund at the moment. Haven't gotten too deep in the book, plus I was reading it while exhausted and traveling, so I may need to reread a few chapters. It’s such a pretty book, perfect to fit the spring aesthetic.

  • Listening to All Creatures Big and Small by James Harriet

My friends have been recommending this audiobook for years! Finally, I am getting around to them. Such an oldie-but-goodie audiobook. The author gives clear and concise details about the life of a vet back in the day. Funny, sweet, and down to earth in some cases. There is for sure one chapter where I was fighting back tears when he had to put down a sweet old dog. :'( Great listen and highly recommend it!

  • Bright Pens

I always buy a specific brand of pens, Pilot G-2 07. These are possibly the smoothest pens I have ever written with. I write a decent amount with pen and paper, and I hate when a pen scrapes the paper, gets stuck somehow, or is just too thick. I have no idea where I saw this, but I read that this was the best pen in the world, granted that could have been marketing on their part, but they are not lying. I stand by these pens, and these colors are awesome for spring. Though I am hoping to find a lavender-colored pen.

Habits

  • Buying Flowers

I think I mentioned this one in one of my posts already, but I love buying flowers from Trader Joes'. They are so pretty and brighten up a room in seconds. I have been a bit obsessed with buying tulips lately, but a peony or lily will always bring a smile to my face.

  • Open Car Windows

I am trying to do this as much as I can! Before the heat of the summer takes over, and I can't bear the burning air hitting my face. Right now, it's so fresh and soothing that I can't help opening my windows. Still, for safety reasons, I am only opening them a little more than halfway.

  • Plants

I was gifted this plant by my father.  And I am hoping I can keep it alive for a long time. It's so cute! Love the round leaves and the greenery in my room, but dang. I am terrified I am going to kill the poor plant. It has been about a month, so I think it will survive the summer months.

  • Walks!

I think I need this just to keep my brain from exploding. I would love to take walks this spring, everything is green again, and the fresh air is supposed to be liberating and relaxing. But it's amazing how much I want to stay in bed in the morning. I am going to try next week to take a walk in the park hopefully at least once or twice during the week. Or maybe I will start running again? Who knows! But fresh air is definitely needed.

  • Stretching

This has been helping a lot! I don't stretch in the park like in the photo, but at home on my yoga mat. It is so nice to get a good stretch in, especially when you spend most of your time sitting down in front of a computer. Stretching does help me sleep better and feel a bit looser during the day. Give it a go, but I will say it is a bit painful in the beginning, but you’ll feel great afterwards.

Conclusion:

I hope you got some inspiration from this post to enjoy spring a bit more this year. I try to make the most of each season and look for things to enjoy that only appear during that season. Usually. :D

Let me know what you are enjoying this spring, small or large, I would love to hear it. :D
